More Fishing in Bahia Asuncion
Fishing Guide, Manuel Arce Aguilar from Kalicos Loco, does not write in English, so as a favor, he asked us to post these fishing photos from last
week.
And look who came fishing with them all the way from the US.
Information about fishing can be found on the fishing page of the Community Web Site.
http://www.bahiaasuncion.org/fishingpesca.html
BTW---we are working on the Spanish language part of the website, and it still needs a lot of editing. Pronto!

OK, this opinion should get me into a lot of trouble. I have observed that SOME fishermen are like many cowboys that I have met---smiling just is not
a part of the equation. Maybe it is not cool?

Where's the Tuna? Is the water temp. still in the low 60s?

According to the old timers, some years the Tuna do not visit, but they are still hopeful they might stop by this year.
A few people have said the water is warming up a little to the higher 60s.

We take it very seriously Diane. As far as the photo shoots are concerned. When we can land a fish, our hearts are in it. When you see your partner
on the other end of the boat go "fish on" its all eyes are on him and his rod.
When we have to go do the photo shoot....well we become humble.

Maybe I should take up ocean fishing----I still LOVE to fish for trout, mainly catch and release while floating down a river in Montana. And when I
manage to outfish my son, humble is not in my vocabulary. He knows those rivers and all of the fish by name.
Hope to see the two of you fishing down here soon and smiling from ear to ear with some nice fish!

Same water temps around 4 weeks ago. No tuna, just some Yellowtail in the 15 lb range and not many of those!
Still had a great time though thanks to Shari and Juan.

Ah.....Fish Creek.....east of Missoula Montana...blue ribbon trout fishing. Just about like fishing for Trigger Fish :-)
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

A while back, on Nomads, we read a quick reference about an up and coming shore fishing tournament. But when we asked around town, no one seemed to
know anything about it. Was it planned to be an open tournament or strictly an exclusive happening?

We usually float the Clark Fork---beautiful and good fishing, but my favorite because of the scenery is the Blackfoot!. Just a great way to spend a
day.

It is interesting about the look in the photos and not see a lot of smiles. I fish with the local fishermen all summer and it is literally like
being in the middle of a party all day long since they laugh, chide each other, share food from boat to boat and generally have a wonderful day on the
water with lots of jokes and fun. Now that the tourists are coming back in hordes they were out on the reef for a days fishing and there were some
nice yellowtail being caught, but it blew me away to look at the snowbirds who all looked like they had been sucking lemons all day. They had cursory
short waves, looked plain frustrated when someone else caught a fish (wonder who that might be) and generally looked like they were having a bad hair
day.
I think I would prefer to be in the middle of the pangueros anytime.
