Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

A rest area? You mean a turnout with an overflowing trash can?

How can you be so cynical? Of course they won't have trash cans.

Last Friday we drove to GB from SF. The winds were howling up at the top of the new road. I estimate 60+ MPH gusts. With that came a lot of rock
slides.
Although I look forward to better access to GB, I sure worry about the fact of "good roads = bad people".
Any thoughts here....

It's either Great Britain or Gonzaga Bay. Take your pick.

Well Goat, we don't have to worry about you as you can't afford to leave your single wide in Lakeside.

I agree with you that I like seeing Baja place names spelled out. There are some pilots on here who can't help but to abbreviate everything so it
becomes a code only they can understand.
In this case, since the subject was 'Mex 5'... I think guessing that SF is San Felipe and GB is Gonzaga Bay wasn't too far of a reach. I am not sure
if Pat is a pilot or not?

richard cranium:
was that an insult? am i supposed to be offended by the suggestion that i live in a single wide or live in lakeside? (while i live in neither, i
would prefer either or both over living in anything in las vegas )
you best watch out, i think many of the nomad expats live in single wides

Not one that I know of.
So sad as you say things, Goat, with no knowlege of what you speak. You just say things that are baseless.
Don't you know that you hurt people with your comments?
Do you think anybody here respects your comments knowing full well you only post to be mean and fractious?
You have yet to offer a comment here that would beg rebuttal and that's a shame. You know what's happening here and you, at times, show your
expertise of the issue.
Why don't you join the party and help all of us to get along.
I, for one, would welcome that.
On the other hand, I'd miss you as you are...the "point-counter point" piece of garbage that you try so hard to be.
It's your call, numbnuts. We'll take you as you present yourself to us.
In fact...don't change a bit. We all need someone to hate and regurgitate when your name is mentioned.
See? I'm barfing.
Thank you so much for being intollerable.
Jeeeeezo...I'm becoming dehydrated.
OK...Screw you, Goat. You ain't nobody.
G'nite All.

Dennis, thanks for the like minded thoughts on the goat.
Back to the road...
Do we have any Gonzaga Bay regulars, residents or semi-residents that can comment on the effect of the road upgrade?
And what will happen to Coco when the road is paved all the way to Hwy-1?

I love the good natured ribbing!! The sharing of good info is helpful and interesting. The rest is BS. I could sure use a rest area on the long
drive on HWY 1 to LP--La Puente?? No, La Paz. Couldn't resist! Tio

That was what I heard as well... Too bad as Coco has been expecting the highway in front of his place for a few years now.
The old road betwen Las Arrastras and Laguna Chapala is about a mile west of Coco's at the base of the hill... there is a rancho back in there (a road
goes to it from Coco's) too. That is probably the new highway route? The El Camino Real is also along there as it heads north to Santa Maria from
Calamajue... see ECR yellow push pins where I spot the mission trail, Coco's and the site of Las Arrastras on the road to Gonzaga Bay. The auto road
to Chapala crosses the Camino Real about 2 miles south of Coco's.

I'm not sure Coco would want the hwy right beside his place. At first it may sound good but after a while the traffic would be too much. Security
would be a problem, much more so than now. When the hwy (short for highway) is built there will be an exit for Coco and the fishcamp etc.
