HughesNet slower than usual last two weeks?

We live in BCS. Our Hughesnet has been very very slow in periods throughout the day for the last two weeks. We have had the service for five years and occasionally have experienced slow days but this is worse than anything previous. It is not FAP.

Just wondering if anyone else down here has noticed anything lately?

Thanks

Need more info - Dish size, satellite, channel frequency, age of install, modem model...?

Not all HughesNet (Pronounced "Use Not") systems are set up the same way. US results probably don't count as there are many more satellites there for the installers to choose from.

Many HN systems on SatMex 6 in BCS are now virtually unusable right out of the box. Availability on Satmex 5 has been "OK" lately (OK is a relative term when discussing HN).

We recently moved a client for SM-6 Business Internet service at $179 per month to Pro Plus service on SM-5 at $79 per month. Result? He now has better up and down speeds overall throughout the day and saves $100 per mo. Before, the system was mostly unusable between 9AM to 7PM, with frequent web acceleration and "Page Not Found" errors.
