SENTRI NEWS
U.S. CBP SENTRI officers issued a notice recently to the effect that any SENTRI user detected unloading passengers from their vehicle prior to
entering the SENTRI lane may have their SENTRI card taken away. It was not unusual to have a SENTRI user have passengers that do not have SENTRI, and
prior to entering the CBP SENTRI inspection, the Non-SENTRI passengers would get off and they could walk across into the USA using the pedestrian
gate. The SENTRI office said that they will take away SENTRI privileges to any SENTRI user caught transporting non-SENTRI passengers and the unloading

After much confusion, Customs and Border Protection has issued the message below clarifying that they ARE NOT taking SENTRI cards away from people who
drop off non-SENTRI passengers prior to arriving at SENTRI inspection booths.
Please read message below for details.

To All;
CBP has not and at this time is not revoking SENTRI cards when we detect SENTRI members unloading passengers from their vehicle while in the SENTRI
lanes.
Due to the danger of having people walking in vehicle lanes, CBP is asking that all non-SENTRI passengers be dropped off prior to entering into the
United States. Please be aware that US territory extends south of the primary inspection booths.
If you must drop off or unload passengers in the vehicle lanes, CBP is asking drivers to please make sure that you do not block traffic, cause any
type of traffic delay, or create a dangerous situation.
We are also asking that you remind your non-SENTRI passengers to go to the back of the pedestrian line.

Bedlam at the Border
Coming North last week, we were plugging along in the usual Madness and Mayhem with the Idiots jumping from lane to lane and others staying within two
inches of the back bumper for whatever reason when SUDDENLY there started to be an "Attempted" mass exodus from our lane and
determination on the part of those in the other lanes not to let anyone in. W-T-F ?
Since we were moving so slow anyway, the wife got out and walked up to see what was going on.
Lane was closed. Light still Green, but gate closed and agent gone.
After a few "tentative" attempts to merge (New Truck), I gave up and decided to just wait for a Gap. HAH ! Fat Chance.
After awhile, the wife jumps back out, walks over to the next lane and says to the driver "They closed our lane. Will you let us over" ?
And, he did.
She does come in handy at times.
Speaking of WTF moments, while waiting earlier, I felt a very small bump. Puzzled, I asked the wife "Did that car behind us hit" ?
"No, she says. Must have been a bump in the road".
TODAY, driving to the Doc's, she says "BTW, that bump WAS the car behind us. Knowing you'd flip out, wouldn't accomplish anything and just make the
situation worse, I waited to tell you about it. Besides, it didn't leave a mark".
Smart gal.
