Whales at Lopez Mateos?

Can anyone give a current status of whales at Lopez Mateos? Is la Boca open?
There are some bungalows just after turning left at Feliz Camaron, does anyone have a name and phone number for a contact there?

Whale season in Lopez: 1st whales show up early January, pretty much depart by last days of March, with the most seen in February.

Hotels have been filling up, especially around the festival last weekend . . . and celebration will continue through February.

I have no numbers for you now. Mike the walker is there this weekend. I will collect numbers for you then.

The "Boca" is one of three openings to the ocean, from the Laguna. If it is Boca de Soledad you are inquiring, the Boca is always open, and has variable weather .

Jeff, thanks.
If you can get numbers for me, that would be great. We are going to try to organize a trip for mid Feb.

Where is a good place to camp if you want to combine with a whale watch trip? (By "camp" - I mean the real deal - no hook-ups, showers, Canadians; small fee, clean, safe). Thanks
