San Felipe 250 Donation Drive
To All Racers, Race Teams, Pit Crews, Racing Fans and Baja Nuts:
Baja Bound and Mag 7 will be collecting donations at the San Felipe 250 this year to help support the San Felipe Food Bank. Items needed are new or
gently used shoes and clothing and household goods such as kitchen appliances, dishes, cookware and home electronics. If you have room to bring a few
items down, it would go to help out a really great cause.
All of the items received will be donated to the San Felpe Food Bank Segunda (thrift store) which sells the items and uses the proceeds buy food in
bulk as well as cover operating expenses of the store. The San Felipe Food Bank currently feeds over 500 families in the community and also delivers
water to elderly people every week.
We will have a dropoff area set up at the Mag 7 headquarters, which will on the beach at the south end of Pete's Camp. We will be set up to receive
donations throughout the day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday afternoon after the race and Sunday morning. Just look for people in orange Mag 7 shirts
when you get there. We plan on delivering all of the donations to the Segunda mid-day on Sunday.
If you prefer to take donations directly to the Food Bank Segunda, it is just before the arches on the left as you enter San Felipe.
I encourage you to visit the San Felipe Food Bank website to see all of the work they do in the community. It is amazing to see what they are doing on a shoestring budget,
and a little support from the racing community will go a long way.
See you in San Felipe!

Of course if you want to bring down a 50lb bag or rice or beans or flour, they will gladly accept those things also.

Thanks Woody and BajaCat!
I would recommend not trying to bring multiple bags of stuff across. The goal is to have a lot of people bring a few things each, so nobody runs the
risk of a hassle at the border. Pack donation items throughout your regular gear and you should be fine.

The food bank is open from 10am to 4pm. It is closed on Tuesday. We are currently unable to deliver water due to problems with the truck. It would be
great if someone with diesel experience could take a look at it.

Bumping up this post. Please remember us if you are coming down for the races or anytime. The food bank not only feeds the hungry but also provides
therapy for handicapped children, day labor programs, diaper programs for the elderly and handicapped kids and basically any type of service to those
in serious need.
Paty will be at the food bank this weekend. Stop by and meet her. In order to legally provide all the services a new organization (Civil
Association-non profit) had to be formed. You can read about it here http://www.volunteerswithoutlimits.org
Thanks to everyone who has been helping and supporting us.

Late cancellation, need help. I had someone going down for the 250 and now they can't go. I have 8 cases (cases, not boxes) of diapers that need to go
down from Phx. If anyone is going from Phx and wants to take 1, 2, or..... please let me know immediately.
Thank you in advance.

The donation drive went great. We had a lot of race teams drop by bags of donations and it was enough to fill my 4Runner almost to the roof!!! We met
Patricia and Susan as well....
Here is a photo from when we dropped off the donations:
From left to right: Me, Patricia, Susan, and Bill (Mag 7 president)
Thanks everyone for helping out!
