Road Trip from San Diego to East Cape for May need convoy mates

I am planning to drive from San Diego to the East Cape of Baja in May. I will be driving solo and would like to hook up with a caravan /convoy if possible. If there is anyone out there that can help me get past Ensenada and to the south I would appreciate it. I was thinking of staying for 6 weeks.

Thanks Yellowklr; 5/28 is too late for me. I'm thinking of going down the first week in May or there abouts. And return second week in June.

Thanks Soulpatch; I might be able to delay till 5/15. But no later. Last year the fishing was off a bit, and I missed a good bight by a week. ...Like a good restaurant, you don't want to be late and find out they are out of the house special.... The water temp. is suppost to be high this season. So the fish may be in early. I don't want to miss it. We'll see. Thanks Again:

Just hop in the car and go...I drove it today/yesterday for the 30th plus time and once again no issues. the only thing that peed me off was seeing a caravan of 20 RV's.

Just cross the border 1st thing in the am and watch for the cuota/scenic signs. when you cross the border go all the way to the right, before crossing...it'll help as you need to be in the right lane quick to make the scenic turnoff.

Geez. I meant a single vehicle! The wife, sometimes the kids, or friends. Just no convoy.!:lol::lol:

Or were you throwing a metaphor at me?:lol::lol:

In April, this new skateboard club will start the cleanup of this turnoff ....you'll be pleasantly surprised when we're done !!

damn it...why didn't you mention this earlier. I would have brought you a pile of skate gear. I drove in yesterday and won't be back north anytime in the distant future. I have a bunch of skater friends, who would hook up the groms.

I'll send an email up north and see if I can get the boys to get a pile of gear ready, interested in stickers and clothes too? I have been a snowboarder/skateboarder since day 1, I started snowboarding at Mt Baker the first yr they allowed it, they were the first MT to open to shredheads. The snowboard/skate crowd is pretty tight, and I am sure I can round up some gear for the kids. Do they have a skatepark? Can you send me photos of it so I can show the boys up north, many of them build skateparks for a living.

The gear would be in seattle, so if anyone could help deliver it, that would be great as I will not be driving back/forth next time around. I only did this time as I bought a truck to bring down.

oh yes, stickers and clothes, oh yes yes yes ...

we are going to have a ramp built, the local newly elected officials (one is a personal friend) promised to pay for it and we have 2 volunteers to build it ... (one is a guy from Bahia Asuncion - he built theirs).

fishabductor, where in Baja are you (u can u2u me) ? I have a friend coming from Canada and maybe, just maybe, he can pick stuff up in Seattle in April when he comes down right to La Bocana. Wouldn't that be a hoot ?!!

Hi Angler;

Looks like my friend will be able to come with me and we will be leaving S F Bay Area on the 9th of May and most likely getting to the border on the 11th or 12th so this may not work for you ? (have to stay for Mother's Day because it is my BIG day (hopefully) -
