LATEST ON THE TECATE ROAD FROM THE MYSTERY REPORTER

El Sauzal to Tecate....

Dennis,

It appears as of this morning at 5 am the road construction crews are getting ready to start tearing up the asphalt on the center section of route 3, the last remaining 25 miles of "old "road, inbetween the newly paved south and north ends.

They have graded (so to speak) a number of short sections off to the sides of the existing asphalt road in preparation for demolition in numerous center section locations, and they are beginning to position various earth moving machines along the 25 mile stretch at various intervals.

IMHO, this last section will be a nightmare for the road crews in some places, and will make the temp dirt road a veritible hell for travelers and commercial vehicles for months and months to come...IMHO...
