Do Long Distance Busses Use Hwy 3 Ensenada/San Felipe?

I imagine the answer is no, at least at the
current time, any info?

I know the Hwy 3 from Ensenada to San Felipe

I've never seen a passenger bus, ABC etc, on #3. Lots of beer trucks....no buses.
I don't know about the stretch from Tecate to SF. I think that's #2 anyway.

I believe I have seen them on Mex-3 between Mex-1 and Tecate, however, if anyone knows different I'll just blame my memory on a senior moment. Jim

I saw a robin's egg blue bus heading north on Mex. 3 about an hour south of Tecate a few weeks ago. Sorry, but forgot the name of it.

There are two Federal Hwy. 3's in Mexico

The original goes fro Tecate to El Sauzal (Ensenada).

The other (Ensenada to Mex. 5, north of San Felipe) used to be Baja Norte State Hwy. #16... Until a short time after the state finished the paving (early 1978), then the feds took it over and called it also Mex. Hwy. 3!

Now the OP asked about the Ensenada to San Felipe part of Hwy. 3, yet he is getting info on the Ensenada to Tecate part...???

Dennis, Hwy. 2 is Tijuana to Mexicali to San Luis, Sonora and on.

The few times I have been on the San Felipe to Ensenada Hwy. 3 I don't recall seeing any ABC type busses.

It it is a totally different highway than the original 3... it is also an east/west road instead of a north/south road like the orig. Hwy. 3 is!??

I don't think there is a bus service on hwy 3 from Ensenada to San Felipe. I tried to Google several different ways and nothing came up . I too do not remember any busses on that route.

TW

Taking the Bus to San Felipe
San Diego has trolley service down to the Tijuana border and you can get a cab to the Tijuana bus station for under $10. There are buses to both Ensenada and Mexicali with connections to San Felipe - please call ahead to confirm schedule and fares. For information about bus schedules and fares, in México, call (01 664) 621-2424, or email: abc@abc.com.mx. They also have a web page, however, it hasn't worked for over a year. It's www.abc.com.mx and it's in Spanish.

The Tijuana Bus station is located at:
Central Camionera de Tijuana
Blvd. Lázaro Cárdenas and Río Alamar S/N, La Mesa, Fracc. Murua
(664) 621-2982
Open 7 days a week, 24 Hrs.

If you want to travel via Calexico and cross the border at Mexicali, the Greyhound station is across the street from the Mexicali/Calexico border and many people take that from San Diego. The new ABC bus station in Mexicali is located very close to the border, and you can easily walk to it. It is located at:
Av. Mexico No. 343
Esq. Calz. A. Lopez Mateos, Zona Centro
01-800-0250-222 (in Mexico).

The San Felipe Bus station is located on Airport Road (Mar Caribe South), near Liquors Calafia and the Pemex. They close after the last bus from Mexicali arrives (10:30 p.m.) and open again around 5:30 a.m.

Buses to San Felipe from Tijuana via Ensenada and Mexicali:
Estrellas del Pacifico
(664) 683-5022 and 683-6789
Open 7 days a week, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Credit cards not accepted
Destinations: Mexicali, San Luis R. C., Hermosillo, Cd. Obregón, Los Mochis, Guasave, Culiacan, Mazatlán, Tepic, Guadalajara, Mexico D.F., Ensenada, San Quintin, Mexicali, San Felipe.

Buses to San Felipe from Tijuana via Mexicali:
