Whats the most unusual fish you,ve caught?

One afternoon at La Gringa in BOLA I got two 8"9" Bonefish of all things on a little white jig of all places!!!!

Yours,fresh or salt
Rob

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.

I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

A spotted ratfish.

It turned out that they appeared on our planet along the time of sharks and rays.

No, it was in a flooded sidewater of a lake near Raleigh, NC. It weighed 13 pounds and was nearly a state record. While pulling him? in, I had to scare off an aggressive cottonmouth moccasin throwing rocks at it. I can't remember if I ate it or not. I don't think they're well known as food fish but they definitely have a prehistoric look to them.

One of the prettiest and somewhat rare fish I've caught was a China Cod at Shell Beach, CA, They are called that because the markings resemble Chinese calligraphy.

I've also caught Garibaldi. I was advised to release it, so I did.

Oso, Bowfin are common down south, real fighters, also good to eat. Most people consider 'em unfit to eat. They have to be dressed fresh caught, the fillets need to be kept on ice, some folks soak 'em in vinegar. Battered and fried they're good.

I caught a Humbolt Squid. I'm not sure if it's a fish or not, but it was strange for sure.

China rockfish are beautiful and fairly plentiful in my area. I'm surprised that Ken Bondy doesn't have a good picture of one.

Tripletail AKA Blackfish. Found in the Gulf of Mexico. Like to hang out in the shade of any floating debris, grass etc. Very tasty! On a scale of 1 -5 , it rates a 5.
