Tecate
I will be in Tecate (either side of the border) for a few hours next week. Wondering if it's easier to get a 6 mos tourist card there for upcoming
trips down the baja than TJ and worth the time. Also are there money exchanges on either side of the border where I can get pesos?

There is a hole in the wall/ mail box place that exchanges pesos on the US side of the Tecate border. Be extra careful to follow driving rules, stop
signs, turn signals, etc. as there is a Sheriff that hangs out there just waiting for his next victim.

Yea and they say Mexico is bad for Cops stopping you for anything, they just take lessons from CA cops.

Tecate does not have a bank at the border... and since Mexico hasn't figured out a way for their officials to accept payment, you will need to go down
the hill a couple long blocks to find an open bank, the return to the border INM office for the validating stamp.

You mean get a visa for 6 months just to have on hand for your next trip? I'd get it at the beginning of your next trip, so the expiration date will
be extended just that much longer. There is a convenience store on the US side at that tiny "mall" where the gas station is. It's on the end - they
have currency exchange, car insurance, coffee. I'm sure there must be currency exchanges in Tecate near the border too.
