Mex 3, Ensenada to Tecate Conditions?
What's the latest condition of the road? A month or two ago there were reports that construction was about to start again on the middle un-finished
section. Has it? Or is it still two new sections with the old original pavement in the middle section?
Haven't been on the Tecate road in about five years but planning on it in about two weeks if the construction is not ongoing.

The road is fine, there are a few places where they are working on it but no big deal.
"Life is tough".....It's even tougher if you're stupid.....

Last Sunday (May 1), Hwy. 3 was all paved... and Mex. 1 south of Ensenada had only a 1000' unpaved section near the new military inspection site (that
is still unmaned) close to Uruapan hot springs road. The military check is now south of San Vicente where the Valle de Trinidad road joins Mex. 1.

Yeah...like David said, it's fine. They're beginning to do parts of the middle stretch, having completed the two ends, and they seem to be widening
the surface on one side only, leaving the paved portion intact. I'm sure it will be a mess eventually, but it'll be worth it.
Still a little bit of touch-up work happening on the big hill closest to Tecate, but you'll see the equipment and workers. Just slow down a bit.

Thanks for the updates. Will give it a try.
Hopefully, secondary at Tecate will be more efficient than TJ/Otay. The last three years we have gotten through the border entry in a reasonable
amount of time and then waited OVER AN HOUR for a secondary inspector who then took two minutes to do the inspection! BTW, don't use your cell phone
in secondary. The AG inspector may not be very prompt but an INM officer will be there in thirty seconds to tell you that it is illegal to use your
phone!

Not only are you not allowed to use your cell phone in seconday but any electronic device. Electronic devices all generate RF frequencies that may
interfere with the government stuff.

Not to mention that cell phones today have all the capabilities to make movies with sound. They really don't want that, especially at SY and Otay.
They do have their image to consider, ya know.
