A Funny Thing Happened in Primo Tapia Tonight

I drove in to Primo Tapia to Tacos Mejores and I had to park way down the highway because there were so many semis pulled up on the side of the road.

I just wanted some food to go, but the very elderly guitar player playing in the inside pulled me up short, because his music was so beautiful.

I stepped inside to give him a tip and when I did, the other customers there clapped, stood and cheered.

Baja, always an experience.

It Was One of Those Heart-Wreaching Songs

And I honestly cannot remember the name of it.

It wasn't La Paloma. It wasn't the one about the mujer with the green eyes.

If I can somehow resurrect the name of the song in my memory, I will get back to you.

Probably "Ojitos verdes" a very popular Ranchers song:

Hey Woody

Yes, he was at the end of his music set - I would never interrupt something so magical.

Sorry if I screwed the story narrative; I was trying to record a vivid memory right away.

The audience was applauding him, not me.

By the time my to-go order was ready the restaurant was empty - all of the audience of maybe twenty-five men were gone and all the semis were gone, also.
