Ensenada, BC

- With a committed investment of 133 million pesos the construction of a marina 193 moorings in Ensenada.
The company Promotora de Baja California, S. de RL de CV, was the winner of development and contract rights and obligations valid for 30 years to develop, use, build and operate a marina on site Port of Ensenada.
The marina will include an area of ??95 thousand square 621 meters federal maritime zone, where 84,000 to 864 meters under sea area square.
There are 10 thousand 757 square meters of land area, which is adjacent to the Ventana al Mar and Baja Marine shipyard and Naval, with the mouth of the Arroyo Ensenada Port Area, with Street and Marina Boulevard Lazaro Card##as and areas navigation of the harbor port.
The project will be called "Marina Victoria" after the name of the ship as it entered the Portuguese explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo when he discovered the Bay of San Mateo, Bay of All Saints day in 1542.
It consists of a marina with 193 moorings combs exclusive mega yachts and boats, tourism and recreation, without considering the operation of cruise ships.
Provide services to ships docking, maintenance and minor repairs afloat, supplies, potable water, fuel station, electricity, lighting, garbage collection and waste, waste water disposal.
One of the novelties of Victoria Marina is your business strategy, which will focus to a market of boaters more buying power, offering a mix of scallops that will appeal to mega yachts.
38% of the bid will be for mega yachts between 60 and 90 feet long and 27% for mega yachts from 90 to 125 feet in length, keeping 36% for the traditional market of up to 50 feet in length.
This new profile yachtsman will mean a greater emphasis on service delivery, while opening more opportunities for local businesses that offer quality services to the vessels, and therefore generate greater economic benefit to the city as a Most of these mega yachts require crews of 5 to 15 people, by the profile of the owners and their guests.

interesting that 65% is for mega yachts. i know some mega yachts visit ensenada for inexpensive shipyard work (relative to US), but do they really use ensenada for much long-term mooring?

p.s. I like how their percentage add up to 101% that's aggressive biz plan!

Hussong's is on the north side of Ensenada (and only the breakwater was ever built). This one will be just south of the Cruise Port(and so far only the breakwater is built).

Bob, missed reading about this. Must be the good meds I have been taking?

Though I am amazed at the poor zoning and organization of Ensenada's waterfront, can't believe how risky a large development would be in 2011.
