Fun in the sun and water, Bahia Santa Maria style.

What a great long weekend we had at our Beach Home below San Felipe in the South Campos. My wife and I and her 15 year old son (photographer) got it good. Warm weather (not hot) and 80 degree water.

Went to see DavidK and his family/friends on Shell Island using our SeaDoos as transportation and then got in a couple of Single Ski and Wakeboard runs around the Lagoon between our Campo and the South end of Shell Island.

Great weekend but a long border wait at Tecate (2 hrs. 50 minutes). Oh well, we had a blast anyway and can't wait to get back for another great long weekend.

Cool Chuck... I asked you about the wait in my TR, but I see the answer here... pretty much exactly the same as us (7:18 to 10:07 pm). I imagine a lot of the excess was Tijuana and Otay liners detouring to Tecate... So, why the extra long wait at TJ?... Other holiday weekends weren't bad. Is tourism back up? San Felipe was sure dead compared to previous Memorial Weekends of years past.

I think there has been a slight increase in the residents visiting their homes (at least in our Campo and surrounding Campos) but visitors to San Felipe has been down for some time now.

No wait at the Taco stands and gas stations anymore.

Hey, when you came through late was El General still open?

I didn't notice... there were a couple of taco carts operating at 1:30 am however!

Just curious is all. I know they don't open until 3 p.m. and stay open late especially on a Friday night.
