buying windows and doors at a great price

Have you heard of Materiales Baja ? It is located on the east side of highway 1 (on the right as you go north):

The owner is ROSA ELIDA OCHOA
EMILIANO ZAPATA 804
VICENTE GUERRERO

01 616 166-2538

It is a wonderful collection of huge windows, doors, wood at reasonable prices.

We bought all our 6 windows and 3 sliding glass doors there ... check them out if you are building .....

Will check 'em out for our refurb of Casa Rosa... can't wait!

In the meantime, its DreamTime.

Mulegena - the windows/doors etc. are not cheap. they are dual glazed and for the most part, top top quality. some are new - i am guessing they were overordered in the States and rosa buys the surplus from construction sites etc.

I forgot to mention that she as well as her daughter and son or son - in - law, all speak fluent English. Nice asset for sure.

Blanca,

I know what windows and sliding glass doors go for here in the states but just for curiosity sake how much did you pay for a sliding glass door dual glazed 6' or 8'?

Thanks, BW

Technically they are on the very north side of Colonia Emiliano Zapata, on the east side of the road, which is the community just north of Vicente Guerrero.

They are very nice folks and I have often found some items that are typically hard-to-find elsewhere down here...

Thanks for the info Blanca. As long as they are dual glazed that is a pretty good deal, a screen would be an added bonus as well.

they are a great source for used materials as well. They ask me right off the bat "do you want new or used". I didn't buy any but they have old garage doors - 50 dls for the "good ones" 30 for the "not so good ones".

I bought most of the doors and windows for our casa in San Antonio Del Mar (Colonet) from them. I know they're more expensive today, but I bought twenty double glazed vinyl windows (most sizes 4x5 to 5x5 (no screens for these sliders)) plus 4 36"w x 8' high double glazed doors, and two 36" x 80" high doors (all doors were fiberglass and double glazed) about 8 years ago. The price was under $2000. They also failed to deliver two windows, but even years later they made good on them (traded the value of the two undelivered windows for other goods). They are always the first place I check when looking for doors or windows... and they delivered to San Antonio...

I didn't realize they had another store either ...they are so smart and such nice folks. the fact that they speak fluent English is a real plus. the kids who work the store went to school in the states, can't remember where now.
