Confessions of a NASCAR Driver
Jimmy Johnson and the 1995 Baja 1000. He says it is the 1994 1000 but the 94 race was a loop so it must have been the 95 race to La Paz. He probably
forgot having had his bell rung.

A side note: The people that bought the truck from Nelson and Nelson Racing restored it and raced it again. They sold it to Johnson not long ago for
his personal museum.

Nice story Tom. One a lot of drivers need to learn-
No Bad Days
\"Never argue with an idiot. People watching may not be able to tell the difference\"
\"The trouble with doing nothing is - how do I know when I\'m done?\"

THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE.
I agree that more drivers need this lesson.
He sure was lucky to come out of that crash alive ... and not so badly hurt in such a remote area.

My friend Jason Mayc-ck from JJ's Fab in Soler, Tijuana did some wrenching at Jimmy Johnson Chevy in the past. Here's a cool picture he posted to
Facebook yesterday!
Jason said..."Me working at Jimme Johnson Chevy in Kearny Mesa, CA. That is Kyle Busch's # 5 car from the NASCAR BUSCH series. Kyle and Jimme
along with Jeef Gordon were part of Hendrik Motor sports, the company I worked for. This car was a retired NASCAR that went to all the LOWES grand
openings. Lowes was the big sponser. The guy that trailed this car around some how blew out reverse in the transmission and came to Jimmie's chevy
deal to replace it..."

Jimmy did drive this Nelson & Nelson Chevy in the 1995 SCORE Baja 1000.. This was his last race in Baja, and the
next season went on to continue with the Herzog Team to run the mid-west SODA series
Here is an early 1993 image "before" he was racing in a "Chevy" from the M/T Series..
In 1994, he was in the Nelson & Nelson truck at the Parker 400 over in AZ...
1994, also saw him start with the Herzog's in the SODA series out in the Mid-West (a Chevy backed program)...
By 1997.. He ran one last season with Herzog "offroad program", and then moved over to their new ARCA Series program (also Chevy backed)..
