More Hurricane Data
Having my boat in La Paz thrashed last year by Hurricane Marty I have collected sites with extensive information. This Navy site is loaded! You can
follow storms world wide and configure it as you wish. Interesting seeing Ivan and Javier as they threaten landfall. Looks like Javier's course has
improved, thankfully.

I am hoping it either swings way to the west, or heads up the gulf.
I want nice weather for fishing.
Nothing like a chubasco to ruin a nice vacation....although it may extend the rtip if some roads happen to get washed out

Oh NO!
Right into 7 sisters!
This is not looking good.
I still hold out that the forecast is wrong.....
Here is the latest IR sat view. Also,
looks like the next storm (KAY) is brewing off southern Mexico too....

SANTA ROSALIA ...........
I am in SANTA ROSALIA as I speak .... with not a cloud in the sky ....
If you climb up to one of the mountains and look SOUTH .......... it looks like it is going to be very NASTY shortly ......
The mountains are the greenest that I have ever seen them .....
Local ranchers are very happy .....

cancelled trip
Had to postpone a planned trip to 7 sisters for a week (we would be 1/4 the way there by now ) b/c many of the models show it coming ashore in that area. I still think it will head west, but we all decided to play it safe. It
would be terrible to be stranded in the wilds of Baja because of a washed out road or two of four...

If the storm crosses the peninsula as shown today, the central desert (boojum country) will get a good dose of wind and rain. The tinajas will get
filled and animal populations will boom. The steel awning over San Borja's adobe ruins will get some good use!

Now each day seems to push the course eastward.
This afternoon (Fri.) the map shows it contacting Baja at San Hipolito in a north thrust, and going over Hwy. 1 starting at Guerrero Negro, Punta
Prieta then the highway veers away at El Crucero and the hurricane leaves the peninsula at Puerto Calamajue.
Somebody warn Coco to tie down all his hub caps and beer can wind chimes!!

Wow, it sure turned east for the shortest route to the gulf. L.A. Bay, Coco's Corner and the Seven Sisters all got saved! Mexitron, is it too late to
go back to Plan A ?

Yah--already made business plans--but I think we're going next week now.....so the trip is still on, just an extra week without that sweet red Baja
dust in my lungs and on my truck and lots of beer coursing through my veins in between surfing and hiking ventures!
