Informative Article About the Border on Labor Day

I received a badly translated (Babelfish?) English copy of this article from the Rosarito Town Crier. I can't cut-and-paste this from the website because the content is locked.

The general thrust of the content is as follows:

1) There will be extra heavy traffic due to families trying to cross the border to do last minute shopping for back to school.

2) The U.S. officials (CPB) will be "working extra hard" to expedite traffic.

3) The quoted honcho also encouraged people to avoid San Ysidro and use the Ready lane at Otay.

Here is the link to original reporting in Spanish: http://www.sandiegored.com/noticias/18192/Que-esperar-en-Lab...

They knocked out 6 or 7 lanes at San Ysidro for construction and the wait is terrible. A week ago thursday, we were through in 20 minutes, but this week it was a little over two hours. Otay is much better with the Ready lane and you can scan your passport too in addition to the card.

Is this new? Earlier posts indicated the the RFID passports did not work at Otay Ready Lane.

Pescador, did you use your normal passport booklet???
