Adios Hotel Serenidad?

Check out the letter written by Nancy and Don Johnson on Fred's board. about the Hotel Serenidad...after 40 years of business the courts in La Paz are making them turn it over to the Edijo...I hope all the people who are thinking or have bought into the Loreto Bay Project think twice about "buying" homes or anything else in Mexico, buy what you can afford to loose...Bajagrouper

Difference...

The big difference between The Serenidad and Loreto Bay is the "Ejido Land"...
Loreto Bay is "deeded" land, and the Serenidad was on "Ejido" land (ie. remember Punta Bunda).
:(The Serinidad situation is wrong, and hopfuly justice will prevail!
Another difference is at Loreto Bay, they are offering title insurance...But what are you insuring:?:

i just talked to Don again

trust me....he will prevail, its going to cost him some pesos and legal but that's biz in mexico. The ejido raises it head and growls every few years, finds some new liberal judge who'll listen and later goes away. This is just a re hash.

What's the difference between what's going on with the Serenidad and what happened when the Hotel Punta Chivato was taken over by their local ejido? That was like 10 years ago... I think.

I know the Posada de las Flores folks from Loreto are running it (H. Pta. Chivato) most recently.

Thanks,

Nancy and Don should have their attorny check into the NAFTA treaty. There is a provision that provides for fair compensation for any siesed properties.
