Have any Nomads seen
this bird?
This is an Eurasian collard Dove. Imported to the Bahamas in the 1980s they soon spread to Florida. I took this photo in Bandon,Or. a month ago.
This is the first year I've seen this non-native bird in beautiful Bandon By the Sea. I have yet to spot them in Los Barriles. They can be
distinguished from Common Ground doves, Mourning doves and White winged doves by the collar on the back of their neck.

They are in Punta Abreojos now. A real pest in the Southwest US.

Collared doves
The collared dove is established at least as far south as Ciudad Constitución. I see them daily in Loreto. The European starling is also here now and
has been for several years. The house sparrow has been here much longer. All three are good at displacing native species wherever they expand their
range.

No limit and year round season on them in Arizona. No limit within Dove Season California. Larger than even the White Wing. Habits are very simular to
"Rock Dove" (Pigeons). They tend to fly in groups and prefer structures. Very tasty...
