Hi Nomads, Just Passing This Info Along - Great House for Sale in Campo Rene, Rosarito

"We need to sell our home in Campo Rene's - quickly - and here's why:

What happened
La Bamba was broken into last week at night, and the damage continues to be done nightly. We are completely heartbroken, as everything was still in the restaurant and was destroyed. They stole all the motors from all of the appliances, copper tubing, wiring, small appliances, collectibles, anything they could carry. Basically, we had about 10,000 -15,000 USD worth of loss. (No, not insured) We have very little left to our names. Beyond the financial loss we've also suffered a deep personal loss seeing things defaced they way they were. It's an awful time for us, personally.

We have to move to Chicago, the sooner the better, for employment reasons. I have work beginning Oct 17th and we really, really want to make this move together, not to be split apart at this difficult time. In order for that to be possible, we have to sell our house, which we are sad to to. We love it, and know someone else will, too.

ABOUT THIS GREAT HOUSE
Located in Campo Rene's, a safe friendly community. 3 bedroom (2 large enough for king beds), 3 bath (2 working, one not plumbed), LARGE home (we're guessing - about 1800-2000 square feet.) Large kitchen, dining area, livingroom, plus extra "office" room. Large covered porch, large fenced yard with peach tree! Washer, dryer, gas stove, refrigerator included. Some window treatments included. TWO large gas tanks which we will leave for you, security doors, pila with recently rehabbed pump, new wiring and plumbing in several areas. All one floor, no stairs (ramp to front door) New roof support beams. Parking pad right in front of house. Great neighbors. We've put a fair amount into getting this place into livable condition and it is, though not "fancy", very roomy and very comfortable to live in.

We need $7,500 USD, firm. The monthly space rental is only $400 (plus 11% IVA, $444 total.) Please contact us ASAP if you know anyone interested. We can be reached at this e-mail, or at
MX 661-100-6120
US 619-752-9319"

Does the Diner come with it? It has strip clubs nearby so I didn't think La Bamba was what it was (an all american diner) or I would have tried it. That's the best name for an All American diner they could come up with? Sad story. Who wanted them out besides everyone that hates a gringo having a successful business here? OK- it' still everyone. Liquor license problems (besides having one) ? It is so hard for a Mexicans to navigate a business with alcohol down here with all the hoops and detours, let alone us. Who do you have to pay? Where is the price list?

Total bummer. I hate to sit back and watch people's dreams get smashed.

$440 per month for space rent? Unless that's water front, prices have really gone up in Rob-me-arito. It's the Mexican way, I suppose....make up for lost revenue by raising the prices.

$440 sounds right my uncles rent In Old La Barca down the street for $500 and and plenty people to rent to. I see no problem you selling and getting that alll day long. That sucks about your miss fortune. Those drug addicts that are looking for copper are usually the ones tearing up things we did have that problem for a while in La Barca but we fenced it really well and have 5 Belgium Milenois sheperds running around, they look like German shepards but i thik they are a bit sharper. Border patrol highly recomend them  Good luck my friend.

anyone that thinks this is vandals is an idiot (sorry- I mean naive). this is the way mexico works. They were asked to pay bribes. You want a liquor license- you play their game. You don't wanna play- you pay. Everyone was nice to them- this is what I mean about the passive-aggressive culture. bye bye gringo. They treated them just like one of their fellow Mexicans- so they should feel honored for their acceptance.. I just don't know why they thought a liquor license was the important part of their business plan. You can't win down here opening a business- Mexican or American. They will take you for everything, every time.

get ready for a dose of truth from your fellow nomads... and how much bribe did your family pay that these people would not? My young cousin had his head cut off for not paying a bribe for his restaurant- I understand how it works just fine thanks. Why not open a casino Oh brave one! There are five more Casinos approved for Rosarito Bach just waiting for the sucker who tries to run one honestly.

Yup, they were just stealing the copper.... nothing more

I was always under the impression that Copper thieves were mostly junkies at work. Gawwwdammmm..... if the electricity goes out around here, they steal a hundred meters of power cable before it comes back on.

This is the reality of Mexico. One guy has his head cut off with a chainsaw, while the next victim can only watch and wait. nice huh?

Not for one second have I considered a business down here... not one second. Look what happened to these people who had good intentions, but no friends like your uncle has. Strip joints and casinos- welcome to Rob-a-rito!

people that can't accept the reality of life in Mexico tick me off. When they lie about it like this Von guy- I take personal offense because I live in the middle of it. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. Especially after having a family member executed. No apology coming from me. Munoz knows the land laws and is feared only by those who abuse them.

When people say stupid stuff- I call them out on it. That is what Mexicans like Von and his bribe-paying uncles hate most- being told what they are and being called out on it.
