Heads Up! UARS satellite re-entry path over Baja...

Hmm. It's at 96 miles and falling. The size of a school bus- and supposed to break into 24 pieces. Haven't seen a "re-entry" estimate. Hope it's as bright as the ISS... I'm sure a nomad will know.

THIS song. My favorite group from the 80's and just disbanded after 30 + years.

Went over Seattle... Unlike the ISS, I guess it's hard to predict the path of a spinning falling piece of space junk.

I saw that too shari- in the northwest sky. Maybe there's a large crater in the salt flats near Datil now. Don't know what it was but it caught my attention just before my head hit the pillow. Bright orange and a long trail.

But the rest of the song goes :

"it's the end of the world as we know it- and I feel fine."

You saw it in the Southwest and I saw it in the northwest- I wonder if something landed between us ;)

Hailey's Comet or a UFO

Wow, this thread brings back memories of when I lived in New Jersey, and I heard about Skylab falling back to earth...I couldn't sleep for weeks thinking that somehow it would pinpoint my house and kill me....now exactly what did you guys see last night...maybe it was a UFO or Hailey's comet, and the song goes, "Its the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine!!!" REM...what a great:dudette: band...hard to believe they were from Georgia...I always thought they were from England...

Hard to believe, but even this morning NASA does not know whee it "landed". They are saying north pacific of USA so far. Could have been what you saw.
