7 Days to go ...

Will be headed on an "epic" (okay, okay, epic for me) baja trip up and down the peninsula for 8 weeks. My previous trips have all been 1 week or less and have never given me the chance to explore many areas of baja that have been on my "to do" list.

My wife and I and our golden retriever (Rusty) will begin on the SOC side. First stops will be my "usual" haunts, Gonzaga and BOLA (will be staying at Villa Bahia), then a night at San Borja before heading to Asuncion (new destination for me). From there we will be more free forming it (may head to La Bocana before returning to the 1 and possible stops at Punta Chivato, Santa Rosalia, Mulege and Concepcion before getting to Loreto (1 week there) and then to La Paz where we will be going on a Kayak circumnavigation of Espiritu Santos with Baja Outdoor Adventures.

Then a couple of weeks of exploring the southern tip before my kids fly-in for Thanksgiving at La Ventana (my son will be kiteboarding).

And after Thanksgiving it will be a trip back up the peninsula.

I will post trip reports and photos along the way ... and be using this forum for information along the way!

You should have a great trip! 8 weeks? I'm jealous! I was at Villa Bahia and San Borja in May on our trip. We thought it would be neat to camp up there at San Borja, it's really peaceful up there. Be sure to explore and see how they water with their canal system - it's really cool. Have fun and I look forward to pics of your trip!

Preston, When you're in BA make sure to check in with Shari and Juan at the blowhole B&B. They can give you lots of information on kayaking, fossil hunting, and other fun things to do.

while in loreto get on a panga and get out to isle coronado. Its beautiful! the same boat could run you to the north west side of isle carmen for some cool snorkeling. Lots of boats and much variation in the cost, if youll be there a week, youll have time to work out a fun day at a cheap price.
