Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

We still need to fine tune the date but it will be after Christmas Day. I'm thinking Thursday the 29th but I need to get with BajaRob for a final decision on this one. Just got back last night, the weather was awesome... 86 degree water, 90 degree days.

No, Deno, they are talking about the South Campos - Santa Maria, El Vergel, etc.

Are "they" special down there ;)

Ya...changed my post to say "downtown's".......txs Lou.

You know....I've been in SF for 9 plus years and always thought the two were the same!

George or Chuck... wasn't one of you using a 2005 + Tacoma with the built in inverter and bed outlet to power the lights... only to find that once the truck is shifted into gear, the wattage available drops from 400 at idle to 100? That killed the amount of lights you had strung for the parade...?

Well, there is a 'mod' to make the inverted produce the full 400 watts, anytime. If interested I will post the how to or a link to the how to.

Uh, that would not (ever) be me. I run a Honda 2000 Generator and even bring a second along (never needed) (yet). I have an image to uphold, we lead the Parade each year!

I found the post... It was from TW!:

The Tacoma has an AC outlet near the tailgate. It's rated at 100 watts /400 watts with a button next to the steering column. For last years Christmas Parade we used the truck to pull the float. It was lit up with Christmas lights, a DVD player and a TV set. All worked OK in the garage when setup. During the parade we found out that when it is set for 400 watts the truck changes to 100 watts when it is put into gear. As you can guess we had no lights or TV playing during the parade. This year we rented a generator, no problem.

Probably shooting for Wednesday Dec. 28th or Thursday the 29th but look for Friday the 30th. I have to discuss this with BajaRob when we see one another soon.

It starts at the Community Center (KM. 33) at the Poblado, dusk for meetup, judging, then a lap around the Poblado handing out gifts and candy to the local kiddies.

Then south on the highway again being greeted by locals along the way to Campo Cadena (KM. 45) where we turn towards the Beach and start the sand portion of the parade where we travel North to Bahia Santa Maria/Playa Hermosa then back south to the Bonfire at Campo Sahauro.

Last year we had over 30 entries. We lead the parade in any one of our trucks selected and monitor VHF Channel 69. Come on down and check things out, and bring me a beer please.

BajaWarrior...great feed back, thanks. I will be there, but not this year. Grounded with the farm here.

Am glad that kids down there get this great parade. You all deserve FIVE STARS!
