Asuncion Fishing Report..mixed bag

It's a real smorgasboard of fish out there these days off of Asuncion. The spearos are getting the biggest yellowtail in the 40 lb range and trolling and yoyo-ing are yeilding fish around the 15-20 lb range. The bonita are huge and yesterday's anglers Mike,Brian & Gerry caught a nice grouper too as well as calico and halibut.

Other anglers Roger & Ed caught 6 white sea bass all 10-12 lbs on scampi and irons...they were totally stoked with that...they were hanging around the lobster pots on the surface.

But the real fun has been on the beaches with corvina, yellowfin croaker, halibut and even yellowtail!!!

Lobster season is really fantastic, lots of huge bugs coming in filling up semi's and shipped to Ensenada. Our clients who flew into Asuncion had an awesome lobster dinner cooked up for them at their casita by Lizbet...needless to say, they are all real happy campers...last day fishing for them today...we'll see how they do.

Those guys are too clean to believe! Did they actually catch those fish themselves or just pose? I've got to try that fly down stuff next time.

"Yellowtail from the beach? What could be better?"

Tuna from the beach?..........wasab, ponzu, sashimi-style, tataki-style. With Hoshi sake and a cold Sapporo?

Shari, what are the water temps right now?

I'd love to see a shot of the type of bonito you are catching over there, to see how it compares with the ones we catch over here.
