Crossing Tecate on a Sat.

We usually cross going North in the middle of the week. From experience, we know that Sundays afternoons can be a long wait.

What about Saturdays afternoons?

If you aren't going this Saturday, check out the times and conditions here: http://apps.cbp.gov/bwt/

Again, it depends on a lot of things...the time of day included. Work traffic going north is less, but K-Mart Shoppers are on the road. It gets worse around Christmas.
Saturday wouldn't scare me.....especially in the AM.

Just pray, Diane. The Border Gods may hear you.

I will sink into a meditative state-----------om, om, om and visualize maybe 2 cars in front of us! Opps, I may be driving, so cancel that idea. :-)

Christmas! A couple of weeks ago they already had Christmas things out at Costco in Chula Vista!

We will try to get there early.

Last Saturday I came thru Tecate around 2:30pm on a Saturday and the wait was 30 minutes. The Mexican military was checking vehicles going northbound just 10 yards from the US side.

When you cross at Tecate take the road to Chula Vista just past the Border Patrol Check Point it turns into H street and there is a Costco on H street that puts the one in Chula Vista to shame Belive it or not It's two different worlds.

Think I will just keep crossing at Otay. Costco, Trader Joes, etc. all there if you want them and just a few miles across the border. (thanks to instr. from Bajaguy)
