Current road conditions
Headed from CO to Asuncion next week, crossing 11/27. Any current road reports?

campers that just arrived here reported that the road into Asuncion from Vizcaino is much much better...it is being repaved and most holes are filled
on the section they havent got to yet...the whole thing is supposed to be finished by Xmas...woo hoo. They also commented that the Jesus Maria
construction area wasnt that bad...look forward to your visit!
Any chance of picking up a box of plastic wine glasses for Sirenita's wedding? about 150 or so?

Drove from Cabo to Border just last week. Hwy 1 is in good shape. Only construction you will encounter is about 10 miles of road work between
Ensenada and San Quintin. The detour along this area is pretty good at a speed of about 40mph.

Only 150? Sounds like a small wedding  Shouldn't be a problem, we can stop at
Smart & Final when we are in LA next week. Shoot me a U2U next week to remind me. Also let me know anything else you may need, I have a pickup

As for the stretch you mention, we got stuck behind a water truck. You can imagine. 10 MPH, and mud all over the place.

You got that right! Got stuck on the grade going south from Loreto once behind a semi with a huge (wider than the truck bed) concrete pipe. Slowest 2
hours of my life!

between Todos Santos and San Lucas either, but the OP isn't going that far.
Fortunately, we did not encounter any water truck at the road work we did go through north of San Quintin. Just the luck of the draw I guess.
The military checkpoint just north of La Paz was abandoned the day we past through. I suppose that is/was temporary.

between Todos Santos and San Lucas either, but the OP isn't going that far.

That's because there isn't any roadwork going on there; no machines, no

just a poorly marked four miles of with north-southbound traffic sharing a torn-up one-lane stretch of highway.
