SANTO TOMAS - ENSENADA ROAD REPAIRS - CONDITION TODAY
I just drove from Jardines (San Quintin area) to San Diego today, and took these windshield photos of the major road
constructions areas.
The area north of Santo Tomas was by far the roughest road work stretch, but not that bad compared to years ago. And...the length of this
repair area is about 5-6 miles..forgot to mark it exactly, but you will know when it's over. 
Plus it is dry ... and that's a huge plus. You shut out the dust...or live with it.

This is an accident waiting to happen. Still to open..a newly constructed inspection station. I barely made it thru ...with just inches to
spare
OMG! This is going to close..! (..of course, it's much easier and safer to take the normal bypass lane way over to the left...buy Hey, I am not even
close to normal.)
At this army checkpoint, the inspection was unusually long and thorough. First time that my drawers were taken off. 
Is This The End of Baja Biker Bashing??

No-no-no, they can't do this...a completely new, wide, and safe bike lane??!! What will happen to all the biker bashers?
Much like the rest of the modern-day Baja Road...it's getting too dang smooth and easy. Don't you miss the old 'take your chances' Bad Road?..with
all the crashes, smashes ..and....funerals?...NOT!

That may be a dedicated Bike Lane, but you won't be able to convince drivers of that. It's just another lane.

the funny thing (or not so much!) is just like the original, narrow lane each way the new one COULD have been widened another 2 feet on each side and
then actually progressed to a fairly modern 4 lane highway.
it's a little frustrating, like a first date that doesn't quite go all the way!

Woody, like Dennis implied, that new highway IS considered a 4-lane by the public, and is being used as such. Go figure...

This one?
That looks to be the one south of San Vicente by the grapes, where the dirt road to Valle de Trinidad comes in.
