Busted in Sal Fish's Jeep

ENSENADA - For trying to flee and open up the way with the help of an emergency siren (amber color) two subjects aboard a Jeep Liberty were detained last night. Both of the men were employees of Sal Fish, organizer of the Baja 1000 off road races and owner of the vehicle that was used to open the way through other motorists.

This occurred at 7:10PM when municipal police agents saw two subjects driving on calle Primera between Ruiz and Gastélum in the Score International SUV with an amber light beacon. However, this device is only for emergency vehicles and the occupants could not prove they had legal possession of the device.

The white 2006 Jeep Liberty, AKC-2463 license plates, lit up for a moment red and blue LED lights, which are used for official emergency vehicles, which were located on the front of the vehicle to indicate to other vehicles to move over out of the way. The driver was immediately detained, and said his name was Eduardo Torres Negrete, 20-years old, also detained were Jose, 17-years old and Alexandre, 17-years old.

WOW....this is a big deal for Ensenada. It looks like the cop in the white jacket peed his pants and it ran down his leg.

Interesting report anyway. One sentence says they saw two subjects in the car, but detained three.

I thought all of the SCORE vehicles were registered in CA and unless AKC-2463 is a personal license plate it's not a CA number. A normal CA number would be #LLL###.

This article doesn't say that this vehicle belonged to Sal Fish. Just that the two detained were (past tense) employed by Sal Fish. :!:

Ask your wife for help with your Spanish reading comprehension. And the article does not use the past tense on their employment status.

They probably learned their lesson. It was a tough day in Baja for these two (or three).

Back in the 50's my buddy had an old (1946?) Cadilac ambulance he had bought that still had operating red lights and siren. We used to load it up with beer and girls, turn them on (siren/lights) and cruise from SD to Longbeach on Pacific Coast Highway in just over an hour. Never stopped by any police.

Bajabass...the story isn't up at that link any more, but I found this description of Bubba's abject stupidity, and video of the fine truck the authorities may have the option to auction.

I hope they do! Though considering how much money the very talented young man makes, 'tis but a slap on the hand. Waiting for video of him in an orange jump suit that is sure to come.

He signed to ride for Joe Gibbs Racing MX. I think it's a three year deal and will be riding Yamahas.

If he can keep his mind on the track, he will do well. Mr. Gibbs won't put up with any shenanigans. He's known to run a tight ship!
