Today's Photo - Jan 30 - MULEGE YELLOWTAIL TOURNAMENT

Since today and tomorrow are Mulege's Yellowtail Tournament days, I thought I'd post these two photos from last year.

SUNRISE HOOK-UP

This sunrise-yellowtail photo has gained some fans..and one made some decals from it.

After I took the sunrise siloette photo of my friends, I passed them the camera so they could return the favor. That's an average tail, by the way.

So, let us have a report on how the first day of fishing for the tournament went.

Well, Pescador, since nobody else is answering you, I will throw in 'what I heard.'

This is strictly second hand info, so don't take it as fact.

Like that great old song, "I heard it on the radio..."

A young fellow by the name of Scott, from BOC and Idaho..who I believe is nomad 'htgfool' ..has reportedy taken first place so far with a nice-sized yellowtail among his limit of 5 fish. I have heard of no other fisherman reporting anything as big or bigger. I never made it to the Jungla to check the board results...as I was not able to make the tournament anyway.

I cannot remember the weight. I will be on the water way south tomorrow and most likely will hear the rradio scuttlebutt then.

Perhaps some other Mulegenian will post the exact facts for you?

REDACTED: MULEGE YELLOWTAIL TOURNAMENT REPORT

MULEGE YELLOWTAIL TOURNAMENT

Well, as so often happens when you listen to the 'Coconut Telegraph' in Baja.... it was just talk and not fact.

Yesterday I relayed some wrong info and I will redact that now:

John Dinning (Mulege and Washington) aboard his boat, "Mi Mujere" caught a 38 yellowtail on Monday, the 30th of January,(yesterday) and AS OF 9:00 AM TUESDAY is leading for Ist Place.

Today (Tuesday, the 31st) is the last day of the 2-day tournament and winners will be announced later this afternoon.

Last night I was abducted by 12-1/2 Brazilian bikinis and could not go to sea today.

That is all I know. Over and out.
