El Morro Hotel-scenes from an Alfred Hitchc-ck movie came to mind
right over our heads as we walked into the lobby to check in..........
just hanging there in the strong northerly wind..................
and off they went.................................
The El Morro Hotel in Santa Rosalia. Walked right in midweek late in the afternoon and got a room. We were the only US plated car.

L.ast Dec 2nd we stopped at El Morro. Price was $50.00 u.s. for one of the ocean view rooms. Paid the price, got the key. walked in. room looked
o.k.
Went to office. "sorry no ice here. Maker broken. Bar could possibly helpyouey b.
So went to bar. "sorry. Only enough to service the bar" as he looked into a small blue ice chest that hold about two six packs of beer, but full of
ice.
I walked back to the office & gave him the key, and asked for my money back.
No problem. Drove on to San Ignacio, and stayed at the "yurt" place. Great experience. Breakfast was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great company,
and will do it again & again from now on. Been staying at ElMorro
for over 20 years going & coming off & on, and won't bother to stop there anymore. Service sucks!!!! It's getting so badly run down, I'm not
even sure if the sheets are washed anymore????????

That old man who slumbers as a bartender and waiter is not very helpful and the food is not very good, but the view is great!
Watch out for all the birds in the huge cage just outside the entrance. It is rumored that they are let into the rooms at night through the
non-functioning air ducts, to feed.

I agree 300% no make it 1 million percent. I too have stayed at the morro for many yrs. NO MORE.
Here is what I have seen on the last and FINAL visit. All were in the "new remodeled" $750 ocean room.
1. fresh gum stuck to the floor.
2. no cold water, hot water was scalding! no showers for us that night. I tried and burned the chite out of myself.
3. Candy wrappers on the floor, which shows it was obviously not clean.
4. Dead insects throughout the room
5. Crabby old man(owner) to deal with if you try and order food/beverages.
6. Broken shower door and a filthy shower. Sandals required.
7. windows so dirty that you could hardly see through them, really nice considering you are paying extra for the ocean view!!
I am not picky when it comes to hotels, esp baja hotels but when I pay $750 pesos in baja for a room. I expect it to be clean and for everything to
work. I also expect service. There are 100's of places much nicer for less money. The Morro's bread and butter seems to be the away from home mexican
construction worker. Most rooms in the middle of the week house contractor type locals. Many times all that is left mid week is the $750 peso ocean
view room.
The Morro was my go to stop, now I skip the town all together. Fuel scams, bad lodging, and very few good restraunts. From now on we hold up in GN,
less money, better/cleaner rooms and better food/service, only issue is driving into the sun the next morning, but that is what these are for.
