Birria El Chino - San Vicente

another shameless plug for a REALLY cool guy (and his family!) who makes some REALLY good birria de res. i had the bowl with some of the best THICK handmade tortillas (see China making them on the left) in all of Baja.

located beneath the Pemex sign in the town of San Vicente. this time i got there right at first light and was the first customer of the day! on a cool/cold winter morning i can't think of a better place to get a FAST hot meal and stop every time i'm heading south.

i handed over a 50 peso note and put the change in the propina jar.

check it out!

I love rolling up a tortilla and dipping it in the birria juice.

I agree with Woody, great birria there. They are only open in the mornings, they make one large batch of birria and when it is gone they close for the day, usually by 10 or 11 in the morning.

That place always looks good and we will try it sometime. Out of habit, we usually eat at the restaurant next to the stand---Valentines. It is always good and it has been fun over the years to watch it grow. Another very nice family.

Thanks Woody
