Today's Photo - Feb 4th - Now is the winter of our/MY discontent..
No, no...this photo is not from today...BUT IT MIGHT AS WELL BE.
It's been almost ..almost!...freezing here every morning for many days now. I'm certain we can blame it all on Al Gore or George Bush....or
Manuel Cuesta!!
Really, it was 43F at 5 am...brr & brrrrr.. (..so WHY am I getting out of a warm bed?)
I expect it to start raining soon, turning to fog..and then sleet. With gusting winds, it will be the winter they talk about for generations to come!
"Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this son of York;
And all the clouds that low'r'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried."
hmm..pretty deep there, Will.
It's either that...or I've become a woos-ie...

There use to be a guy down at Zippers in SJD, rode a long board (well I only saw him paddle it once) and was there most everyday.
Wore a full wet suit on the hottest days of summer.
He was from the pleistocene period but he had a big smile.
Damn it's tough getting old
I want to be just like him some day
Heck, I'd like to be like Pompano right now!

Pompano, It's 12 degrees with clear skies here in north Idaho. Thanks for all the pictures and good humor.

I moved to CO and they made me buy a little rod to make it feel like a real fish

I remember fishing out of Mulege in March several years back and it was foggy as all get out, didn't expect that. Thats where good a good GPS and
mapping system come into play, my Navionics has never failed me in the fog off S. Oregon, it's always spot on, but I was a little skeptical in Baja,
it seemed to work okay but the fog did burned off early so I didn't have to rely on it to get me into the river and avoid those rocks.
