Enseanda Murders 02/16/2012

I am working in Honduras right now and received a call from my wife who told me about 3 murders that took place last night in the city.

A guy who worked at a local car wash was shot and killed early evening and I don't know exactly where but ten minutes later while a lot of cops were either going to or were at the scene of the first murder another male was shot in the Mercardo Ley parking lot on Reforma close to Calle Ambar. At the same time as the Ley shooting occurred another male was shot and killed close to my home, Diamonte and Calle mexico.

People we know in govt. say that the car wash guy's murder was just a decoy so that other's could kill the other two and have a better chance of evading police. Who knows if all three were connected but it all took place within minutes of each other.

Carnival is in town and since I will be back tomorrow or Sunday I will see what's up but not at night. My wife and I have gone to the festivities at night before but because of the NACOS (idiots) drunks and those who use public places to relieve themselves we will never attend the night stuff again. It seems the police turn a blind eye during this time when they should be throwing these drunk idiots in jail! If you are coming down for carnival beware that more vehicles are stolen during this event than any other time in the city. Park in a secure location where you have to pay and don't trust the kid or guy who say he will keep an "EYE" on your wheels.

Ok, now that I said all that enjoy your carnival experience and Ensenada!

That explains it. My friend who lives near Ley's said that last night the area had a huge PEP (State police) presence, and with a blockade ot each corner they were chasing bad guys. After awhile all the policia were gone. Wonder if they caught 'em?

Ann, I was just checking another site and it appears that one of the victims was only wounded and two guys running away from the Mercardo Ley incident were detained but it's unclear if they were formally arrested.

Hey Dennis, there is no crime in Punta Banda and I know that for a fact because Tilly said so damn it.

You want to talk about crime. I was just on the Mosquito Coast of Honduras very close to the Nicaraguan border and the drug trade here is at peak production. Mostly Canadians here that have either purchased homes or have small bread and breakfast businesses. The Honduran people as well as the local govt. have screwed these people of "Living their Dream". I had a talk with the owner of the place I stayed, 5 cabanas on the beach and beautiful. Ex pilot for Air Canuk invested almost every saved dollar into this place and he is now getting bent over BIG TIME not only by employees and their fired payment packages to taxes and the power company charging them 5 years in advance and took it out of their Honduran bank account. The Honduran people have this down to a science on how to screw the white man. It's a higher level in Honduras and I'm surprised more Mexicans aren't here to learn more about it. Maybe their is a Dali Lama from the Church of the bent over white man.

Apparently the owners of this B&B gave the power company permission to automatically take the monthly bill directly from their bank account. I saw the charges last night and yes, they did it. Now they have to file a charge with the Fiscalia and do the dance. They will eventually get their money back but it won't be soon. From what they tell me all the foreigners who have a business in the Trujillo, Honduras area are getting nailed like this one way or the other. If it's not the government it a disgruntled employee.

Ahhhhh, to live the dream! I told them to take the first offer on the place and get the hell out of there.

Banana Republic Backlash...Central America is can be such a stew of unsavory situations...makes our beloved Baja seem like innocent cactus, endless deserts, and wide open goodness...

I feel for that poor Canukian...

Plus not many waves down there in Honduras anyways -

Also sorry to hear about those Ensenada homicides last night - yeechy stuff indeed...

Why don't you leave Tillie alone??

We already have the American press, Zeta, El Mexicano, and Vigia screaming on TV and in the streets about the crime, beheadings, kidnappings, and molestation...does it bother you that a little old lady wants to say something good about Baja? And Dennis, I hope you are making good on your promises to apologize with roses, cause everyone on the PBBB expects it, I am sure.

Sorry Dr. but I have known Tilly probably as long as Dennis 30 years?, and she is just fine with her distorted unbiased graphs and charts and I for one like her a lot. She works for tourism so there you have it. When I see her I always give her a little grief about those comparisons she posts on the PB site with other parts of Mexico. She once posted that Canada had 75% more kidnappings than Mexico. I never responded to that one fearing that she would have a stroke if she saw what she posted. She is 80 years old you know.......

Tillie

Look, the point is NOT that she only reports the bright side. The POINT is that Dennis posted a not so complementary comment on the Punta Banda Bulletin Board..that the woman can't read or write Spanish...insulted her publicly, he knows OF her and her posts...but how much Spanish does he actually know that she knows...and how much Spanish does HE know...for that matter...anyways, we don't need to speak Spanish here to read news thanks to the advent of electronic translators and search engines like Google...you know what, you guys don't get the point...you are both very insensitive to insulting a little old lady who probably does more for the community in person than many people sitting on their butts behind their smoke screens in cyberspace. Yeah, I DO know Lizard Lips, leave the 80 year old lady alone..and stop insulting her in public...
