Hotel Mission Inn, Vicente Guerrero
Since my sister is off learning about weaving, cooking, etc., in Oaxaca right now, and it was too cold and drippy to enjoy the beach at The Hotel
Mission Santa Maria in San Quintin, we decided to try the quite new Hotel Mission Inn toward the south end of Vicente Guerrero.
Price- $691. pesos and while reluctant to do so, they accepted the dogs.
Positive
1. Rooms are new, spacious, clean, good heater (and it was cold) and just far enough back from the road that the trucks were not a problem.
2. TV with several US stations --- I guess that is a positive. Good Wifi
Not so positive for us, anyway.
1. Beds are new but quite soft
2. Paper thin walls---man next door had his TV on all night turned down quite low, but we could still hear it---it was one of those noises that you
know what it is, it is annoying, but you can't really understand the words.
And when he used the bathroom it sound like he had come through the wall and was using our bathroom.
Restaurant
Clean--- John referred to it as the Denny's of Mexican Food---I didn't think it was THAT bad, just quite gringoized and OK. We knew better as we had
eaten there before with my sister, but we were too tired to drive anywhere.
But it is an option----

On the menu in the restaurant is...GET THIS....
....liver and onions. YUK! You can't make this stuff up!
But in general we would give this place a better rating than you might- we thought the beds were good and we had no noise issues. We just couldn't
find anything on the menu that we could eat so we found a pollo asada place near by.
Things are expensive, but at least we get a free trip around the sun once a year

We stay at Jardines when in the area, and eat at any one of several good places nearby. The resturant next door is good, and if I'm willing to get
back in the truck and drive a bit, the Old Mill is really good. We ate there on Friday night and the place was quite filled. New tables and chairs
were a welcome change from our last visit.
We stopped at a road side fish taco place on south end of town, and had great shrimp and fish tacos.

Jardins is great and we used to stay there until they changed their dog policy and the rooms they dedicate for dogs are not the ones we like. But it
is still a beautiful place and a very good restaurant and really nice owners. Their other restaurant in town is also quite good, and yes, there are
lots of good taco places around.
We have not gone back to the Old Mill yet since it changed ownership. Before there was just too many circumstances that kept us away---but from some
local expats around there, we hear it is good once again and the kharma is also better now! We will give it a try soon.
Our first choice of hotels in the area is the Mission Santa Maria (old La Pinta), but we wanted to push a little further north.
Of course, our first preference is at my sister's house near there when she is home! I have not been successful at getting my sister to visit us in
BA yet, but she is meeting one our neighbors in Oaxaca.
Jean, one of the owners of the Bahia Asuncion B & B leads a group every year to Oaxaca. I mentioned it to my sister, and she jumped on it!
Next, she must visit us in Bahia Asuncion and promises us she will!

Good to get an additional review of that "newer" hotel.
As for the restaurant, it was my impression that it was being operated by the folks who run Mision Santa Isabel, which I have always enjoyed.
And one last question. You mention that you didn't like the pet-friendly rooms in Jardines. Was wondering where they were. We have almost always found
ourselves upstairs, only to encounter considerable early morning noise from next door. Folks I talked to told me they preferred the rooms around back
because they were quieter.

Trust me, being the major dog lover she is, it would be more likely to be us and not the dogs. 
Timing just has not worked yet, but it will. She was almost on her way down last year when we had a couple of emergencies that forced us to go back
to the states!
Jardines---we used to stay upstairs back in the corner which was our favorite room. We requested that room and we were told it was available, but
that was right when they changed their policy. So when we showed up, they had changed us to one of the dog rooms---a downstairs inside room which
just was not the same.
