Couple of Old Baja maps

Found these maps today and thought I would post them.

David you may already be aware of these sources, perhaps you can give me some feedback on the online map (1858).

The first is a map of "Mision de Santa Catarina / levantado", it is not online and the second map is online and gives a little about the following misions in 1858, my Spanish is most likely not accurate but is presented as a general gist of what the map has on it.

First map:
Mision de Santa Catarina / levantado

Interesting stuff

I have not seen this site before... I didn't see a link to the first map, but looks like there's a bunch of stuff out there on the Internet to keep us armchair exploring when we are stuck up north! Thanks DD!

David,

Apparently what I took for a link, it works on the Univ. site and it shows up as html in my word document, but when I post it here, it doesn't seem to reconize it.

Perhaps this other info. will allow you to locate it on that same site.

The first time I found this site I think I was on this site for over three days looking at all the maps, so fair warning to anyone who likes maps. :bounce::bounce:

** Here is a link to the UCLA main page for maps: http://library.berkeley.edu/EART/browse.html
Just hit the button for non-Calif maps and use the info I put below. **

The first map was listed under:

"Mision de Santa Catarina / levantado" and also under "Real property -- Mexico -- Baja California (State) -- Maps".

I also found this 1943 intelligence map of Baja, though not accessible online, it should have some interesting info. on it. I have found other old military maps to have very good detail(s) on them.

Title Baja California Sur, Mexico, 1943 / compiled and drawn in the American Intelligence Service. Author United States. American Intelligence Service.
