Beautiful, hot Friday in Rosarito Beach with neighbors out enjoying the view from the Disabled Beach Access point

It is going to be an amazing weekend in Baja! A Santa Ana is coming through with a moderate off-shore breeze and temps into the 80's. Not much surf to speak of though maybe 3 feet. Great shape though.

These neighbors took advantage of the relatively cool morning and wheeled over and then out on the Disable Beach Access to enjoy the views. Hopefully we'll be able to get a ramp installed- but no one is complaining! Enjoy the weekend.

Maggie would have found away to get the wheelchair over the rocks into the water if I was in it. For sure!

I don't really think you believe being disabled is funny. It is especially difficult in Mexico. Maybe in your "next lifetime" you will get to find out (check with the wifey).

do your neighbors know you are spying on them?
seems kind of creepy all that surveillance you are doing!

I don't think so at all. There are posted signs about the cameras recording ALL activities. The highest mounted camera is an IP PTZ camera the Rosarito Police is able to watch and control. Three other neighbors have the same camera set up so we all watch the area together. Between the three of us we have the area covered. It's the best way to deter crime. Isn't this pretty common on every street corner in the USA and Europe now too? Honest people don't mind the cameras and people intentionally park in front of our house because the cameras are there.

Admittedly my 540x Zoom is strong. It can read the label on your shirt from down the block. My casino background helped me set the system up. I don't really sit in front of the system much- it's programmed and automated. I do black out (mask) the windows of neighbors. The computers track and notify me of anything out of the ordinary. If not for the daily haze from the beach salt on the camera dome- it could do facial recognition too.

For these two pictures I just opened the door and used my tiny CoolPix Nikon camera- not the system. That's creepy to you too I suppose.

True. I've particulary noticed how uneven the sidewalks are. Must be very difficult for wheelchairs to navigate.

That was an INCREDIBLY generous donation you made today Ron. You are an amazing man and I assure you every penny will go towards the project. Just amazing! Craig

yup- A nice longboard on it would be fun. I do have to drop 20 pounds or wait until whaling season is over before I head out. Wouldn't want to confuse the whales migrating north that I was part of their pod! LOL

Indeed you did! Another wonderful unexpected surprise from a fellow Nomad. I'm absolutely floored, but nomads have always been so willing to help improve Meixco. I hope that spirit of the Nomad clan never goes away. Thanks Angels4! You rock!

Anyone that supports the local Baja community is a great member of the human race. This is a good idea here woosh. I do have a question although

I went to your donation website...and did not find one word about the funding to be used for the handicap. There is no access showing in your diagrams and pictures...as well. What gives? Oversight?

We have been working for four years to protect the beach from illegal developers. We have legally secured 800 square meters of beach for recreational use and we are ready to begin construction on a project for the people.

Everyone needs to get outside and exercise more. A Beach Fitness trail allows people to try one station or all nine- and at any fitness level.

It will be a good stand-alone workout, or beach running enthusiasts can add the Beach Fitness Trail it to their warm -up or cool-down routines.

Rosarito Beach Activity Trail Fund

The Beach area is protected from development in Mexico through the issuance of Federal Land Titles or Concessions. Anyone can apply for a title, but the people who live in front of the beach get "first dibs". That has not stopped squatters from delaying plans to create a beach version of the popular "Fitness Trail" concept on the concession.

100% of donations will be used for concession fees and building a 9 station Beach Fitness Trail from wood, cement, and signage.
If you're tired of seeing this old white man get beat up to protect beach access for the disabled of Mexico- donate. Thanks.

Whoosh...what a great thing to do! Kudos!

My first thought was fix the chair not the curbs. When this image popped-up (considering all your security) I had to stick it in.

There are wonderful alternatives to immobility now, with improved access, even more possibilities for those who can afford it.
