Ophelia's Ensenada....
I took my daughter after work to Ophelia's Ensenada....Shari reminded me of the place, and had mentioned the delicious homemade bread....so I decided
to go there. I had gone a few months back and I didn't quite remember the homemade bread but the homemade lasagna was delicious..so I thought I would
go and have a light meal or appetizer. I ordered the salad with the fish, my daughter ordered goat cheese with sun-dried tomatoes and pesto...hers
was good, mine was excellent though the leaves in the salad were so large they could have passed for lily pads.
The place is not cheap, so I asked the waiter to put the rest of our meals to go. I was looking forward to the salad and fish for lunch tomorrow. I
paid the bill, and the waiter came back with everything minus the salad. I asked him where the salad was. He told me in a very polite tone, "You
know, salads don't last more than a day, so we threw it out." To be fair, he did say they would make a new one for me, but the first order took so
long I didn't want to be there till midnight waiting. I told him it was my decision to throw away the food I paid for, not his. It really put a sour
note on the whole meal.

It will be alright, Doctor.
I know how you feel, tho----I love salads, and often eat them the next day, wilted or not. He should not have tossed it, but I understand his
reasoning.
It is a Bummer tho!!!
Thanks for the report.

ASSUME...
The basic rule of thumb as a waiter is never ASSUME, makes an ASS out of U and ME. Quote: | Originally posted by Barry A.

"Rule of Thumb"... we all use this phrase all the time. I wondered about it's origin.
Interesting stuff:

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.
