The Tradition Continues...Easter in the Bay...Easter Monday (Egg Day)
I didn't like the first title..'Easter Madness'...disrespectful and lame.
HERE'S AN UPDATE ON CAMPING BEACHES OF THE BAY OF CONCEPTION...
..EASTERTIME, 2012..
..STARTING APRIL FOOLS DAY, APRIL 1st, 2012
Hopefully and depending on this papparazzi's ability to drive...this thread will be an ungoing photo update of the camping beaches during Easter from
Santispac to Coyote Bay...to include:
Playa Santispac
Playa Escondido
Playa Burros
Playa Cocos
Playa Coyote
And with that, we start....at ...
PLAYA SANTISPAC
Day 1,
Day 2,
Day 1,
Day 2,
Santispac Cove Beach
Day 1,
Day 2,
His and Hers camping latrines...how cool is that? Bravo, amigos.
Some Santispac vendors get down to business early in the game:
Even the Honey Wagon shows up.
Ironwood carvings anybody?
Next beach is...
PLAYA COCOS
PLAYA BURROS
Bertha's Cantina below..far right. A convenient water-hole with dinner specials, cute hostess.
...AND THERE YOU ARE...THE FIRST EASTER CROWDS OF 2012...
....NOT TOO BAD SO FAR...
...OR NOT TOO GOOD SO FAR..DEPENDING ON YOUR SITUATION.
BUSINESSMAN OR LIGHT-SLEEPER?

seems like there are fewer people than normal ???? I remember the photo in one year, where you could barely see the sand for the tents and vehicles
and people.....

I think I would have a hard time sleeping at any of those beaches during Easter week.
Even sleeping pills would not help.
(Probably Propofol would)

Annual Easter parade with Circus? The Tecate bandstand looks a little
lonely. I'm sure things will liven up Friday and Saturday! Vamos arriba. Thanks Pompano. Tio

Oh boy, the traveling carnival is back at Santispac! I remember years ago, camping there and actually putting my two young children on a rotating
swing made from and old truck chassis with the differential turned 90 °, a pole welded on the axel and chain swings on the top of the pole! I guess
we had been drinking that day.

I swam daily at Coyote Bay last week, temps seemed like almost 70 on the surface but mid '60's 2 feet down. As we left on Sunday, many, many cars
were driving south with camping gear on top. Seems like the locals are still enjoying themselves but caring for their beaches much better than in
years past.

That looks like the Lopez Bros. circus from San Ignacio in that one photo. They create and build all their rides - a real "E" ticket experience (does
anyone remember the E tickets from Disneyland?)

The traveling Carnival is already underway…
Dos Banana Splits, por favor!
The Bay has been sooo warm and flat the last few days…Perfecto for all things watery.
And that's my Bay report for right now, folks....sketchy yes.. but it gives you a fairly good idea of current Easter happenings in the Bay area.
I'll try to get some more NOW photos on Saturday after I try my luck again at the poker tables. Got your Easter Eggs colored yet??

Thanks---except for the ambulance, I hope they all had a great time. I would not want to be on the road later today as so many race back to Ensenada.
We made that mistake once.
Enjoyed your pictures and watching the crowds grow.

WOW... I enjoyed your photo essay, but I would not want to be spending the night at any of those places this time of year.
The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

Easter Monday - 'Egg Day'
Easter Monday (also known as Egg Nyte) is the day after Easter Sunday and is celebrated as a holiday in some largely Christian cultures, especially
Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox cultures.
Easter Monday in the Roman Catholic liturgical calendar is the second day of the octave of Easter Week and analogously in the Eastern Orthodox Church
is the second day of Bright Week.
And so..this is what Easter Monday looks like in the Bay of Conception...the crowds have pretty much fled north... sucking up all the gasoline, ice
and whatever beer is left.
Playa Santispac
Playa Cocos
Playa Coyote
Doggedly determined to make a last sale, The Breadman of Mulege, makes another trek to Coyote Beach. He has worn out more pairs of boots than one can
count in the last 25 years I have seen on his route. Fresh boleos, anyone??
Bravo y Salud!
And so the normal daily events again return to tranquil Conception Bay....
...or...
Maybe not! Seems there's always 'something funky happening', y'know?
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.
