Taco,

Those are perfect for my 7'2" fun board, if you ask me, those waves are perfect for relaxing and just having fun, wich is the purpose of your trip in the first place.

It worked too well.....I'm so relaxed I can't seem to get back too work!! I think this weekend I'll camp on the back patio, BBQ, drink Tecate, and smoke cigars....I don't know what it is about Baja, but time really stretches out down there in the outback.....one week felt like two months...........nice pic Taco.

Been pretty flat here for the past 5 days (Huntington Beach)...and looking at that wave with no crowds no matter what size looked good...thought there wouldn't be ANY waves there this time of year.....

the sisters...

Jealous no matter how small it was...that stretch of coast is just paradise. That said, I'm pretty sure the Canoas north to Punta Baja stretch will pick up a south if it has sufficient West in it. Won't be epic, but won't be flat.

Regardless, looks like an early North swell season :-)

It looked like a small north wind swell that we got....some of those points will pick up any little push as long as its from the north or northwest.

Capt. Mike-
I've been smoking La Paloma Maduros from Thompson Cigar--good puros for about $1.50 each....

Mexitron Swell direction

Mexitron:

I didn't realize that you needed a N or NW swell to break there. I always thought it needed to come from the S based on the layout of the points. You got me to looking on the map and I believe you. Anything directly S will get blocked. It has to pretty far west for it to hit the points.

Anyone in for a trip in the near future? I need to do some surfing and fishing.

I just remembered that I need to get a roof rack for my camper shell...usually just throw my board in the back but it gets too beat up on the off-road trips and in the way when trying to sleep while on the road....
