Pix with new camera

No sunrise yet but been testing the new Nikon P510 with it's 1000mm zoom. The reviews I've read said it didn't focus very well at max zoom and was slow doing it. I am happy with both. Here are a few untouched..

And some I played with...

And a shot of the New & Old Rangers

$429
Here's some info on it.
http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/nikon-coolpix-p510-b...
The option was a 500mm + Nikor lens at well over $1000 and not something to travel with.

Fantastic photos with the 510. Looks like a great camera to take on a long journey without having to carry extra lenses, etc.

Might just have to buy one myself as we are headed to New Zealand in October.

Thanks for the info and the great images!

I assume you must use some type of tripod when zooming in, right?

Ken, 3.3 to 5.9 ( http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/nikon-coolpix-p510-b... )
Bob, No tripod. It has a pretty good vibration dampening system. Here's feature the traveler will like. It will put the GPS location in the image info.

Russ, thanks for the info. Are you able to use other Nikon lenses?

Looks like a great camera, especially for the price. I like the red model. I'm on the verge of getting one. Will put my hands on one at Best Buy to touch and feel, and then order online.
