Dropping someone off in pedestrian lane coming north from SENTRI lane?
I've only had my SENTRI pass for about 6 months now and want to know how easy it is to drop someone out of my car in the pedestrian lane, as the
person I am taking does not have SENTRI.
I know that they need to take all their belongings with them.
How does the pedestrian lane compare to SENTRI drive lane on a Sunday afternoon? Where is a good place to meet them on the US side, assuming I cross
beforehand?

When you say, they need to take all of their belongings, why?
We have had SENTRI for nearly 5 years and every time we drop anyone off before crossing at Calexico east or west, we have never had anyone take
anything other than their wallet and passport.
I'm not an expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Express in Mexicali last night

Forget about it...
Its such a hassle because lately the lines are hours long and you can never predict if you will wait an hour or three hours for them to appear on the
other side. You might want to meet them at McDonald's but you can't park and you have to keep circling looking for them. Yes, tell them to take

thats true, its a sentri rule. zero tolerance from sentri for infractions.
drop them off before you make the final merge to the sentri lane. no more dropping passengers off while in line.

when we cross at Calexico east we drop our guests off within eye sight of the guard shack, probably 30 ft and we have never been asked about it.
But I would follow what you think is right

ped xing line at otay is almost always shorter than ped xing line at san ysidro. northbound at SY is a nightmare!

What is the typical ped xing time at calexico west during the week? I will be doing.the Sentri drop off thing next month.

that is why we use east calexico. there is little to no foot crossing
west can be around an hour in most cases

I have heard of several people who recently lost their card because they were seen dropping off people at the east border at the top of the bridge.
they are becoming real jerks at that crossing. A friend of mine parked between the two roads outside the gate to wait for he passenger and got a
ticket for his trouble.
So at the east border I would drop off people before the bridge and wait on the right side of the road after the fence but you have to pull up onto
the dirt.
the east is a longer walk but there is almost never a walk line. the last two weekends the drive line has been a little longer and my friends are
waiting for me when I get out

Wow. I guess I will try the east crossing this year. Never been. Could a nomad please post a google map link to the best calexico east ped drop off
point for Sentri drivers? I was all prepared for the west crossing.

Just keep your friends in the car and take a nice drive over to Tecate. The scenery is beautiful after the rains.

Cross at Otay Sentri. Drop them off before the curve about 500 meters before crossing gates

Agree with using Otay SENTRI for dropping people to walk across. People use that crossing from the TJ airport so there are usually cabs/busses
dropping people off all along the sidewalk. I'd follow the advice of Estebanis and drop them off before the curve so that the guards don't see you do
it (if that's an issue; wasn't aware that it was). It's also easy to meet them on the US side.

OTAY Crossing
Agree on Otay
If you are a senior citizen or have some disability/injury (cane or crutches)  you can go to the front of the pedestrian line. Also if you have a Passport card, you can use the pedestrian Ready Lane.
After you cross, you can wait for your friend(s) at Eric's Deli in the strip mall just across on the US side.......clean restrooms, free wi-fi and
good food.
Actually, if your friend(s) have a Passport card, you can all stay in the vehicle and use the Otay Ready Lane.....

Third or Fourth the Otay Crossing for Dropping Off a Pedestrian
We have used this gate five times in the last year with our daughter as passenger.
Daughter walks across and is sitting in the McDonald's or the Carl's Jr. waiting for us before we get across.

Well I've never crossed at Otay, so maybe we'll try that.
On a Sunday, will dropping my friend off in ped xing (Otay), and me going through Sentri be faster than Tecate? We might just try the Tecate idea.
Any info on accessing Otay SENTRI lane, or how ot get to Otay border from Ensenada?

Why is it that the SENTRI lanes are so hard to find!!??
