How well does a 3G Kindle work all over Baja?
OK, I'm a Kindle noob.
My wife has an older 3G Kindle that is supposed to access the internet away from cell service and wi fi.
I was thinking of taking it on my next Baja trip to check E-mail and Bajanomads and call for help if necessary.
Can you share your experiences with these devices?

I have the Fire and it works great [indoors], but I don't think it will access internet without a WiFi signal.
It will, however, store a lot of books that can be accessed anywhere.

I have a 3G Kindle (not Fire) and it works great in La Paz. Can't speak for 3G in the rest of Baja, but if you're out of 3G range, you can use local
wifi.
Experience enables you to recognize a mistake every time you repeat it.

Yes, the Kindle 3G (now called the Kindle keyboard 3G) generally works fine in Baja, including for basic email. It connects at 3G where available, and
at slower 2G speeds in many more places.

My Kindle worked fine for a while then quit. Amazon customer service , GREAT SERVICE, had me change the Country code to Mexico and then restart it.
Works wherever there is WIFI...

The Kindle uses the Telcel network in Mexico, so go to the Telcel website and look at the coverage map. There is a lot on Baja that does not have any
coverage.
