Bahia De Los Angeles yellowtail tournament May, 2012

Does anyone who participated in this past memorial day weekends yellowtail tournament in B of LA have a fish report? Where they were biting? etc. I'm going to be down there next weekend for five days and need a little help. :bounce:

The last report I heard was the fish were biting up in Guadalupe bay, around alcatraz. That was a few days ago, they'll be somewhere else by the time you get here.

I just got back. yes the yellows are being heavily worked
by the commercials in Guadalupe. The Locals were complaining that the fish were being actively contained in Guadalupe and not being allowed to work their way down towards LA bay. The water is just starting to warm up.
It was a bit windy on Saturday/Sunday, but got glass calm
on MONDAY/ TUESDAY. Fished Monday with Rafa Cuevas
son Juan. Caught some firecracker yellows in the 10 to 12
pound range, some misc. bass and one nice sized grouper.
All fish caught on cast or yo yo'd jigs. Blue and white,
and scrambled egg patterns being the best producers.
Had some great Seafood Alfredo at Raquel and Larry's
Bought a few "cuban" cigars at Guillermos. Don't Know
if they were real, but they sure did smoke good.
The road for the most part is in greatshape. It is being
made wider with turn outs and emergency lanes in
a few parts. Inspection going down very minimal.
Coming back was light too, the most severe being at one
of the toll gates before TJ.
