Marty won the tourney with a 37 lb , Kara Dodge won biggest other with a 19lb YT. Alex won the calcutta with a couple of in the 30 plus range. I held second place for 15 minutes! With a 23lb. We keep 3 each day, 16 - 24. Caught and released several schoolies. Clocked 100 miles each day. I fished with Sr Grande who is a great teacher for this New England newbie. Gracias Amigo!
We ran out of beer each day and almost out of gas too. We tried to conserve beer by waiting till 8am, but trolled until only vapors were left in the tank.
Pics and video tomorrow- have to make a beer run today. J/k

You are a rookie, if you got Mark on your boat and not enough beer. The motor on his mouth is enough to power any yacht much less a smaller craft:yes:, love that guy.

Congrats to Marty, the lovely miss dodge and Alejandro for there efforts and, of course, your 15 minutes of fame. Sounds like a great time. 16-24 lb dorado, awesome....

See ya in November

chuckie, what water temps were you seeing and what was the color of the water, say, 10 miles out?

Where did you fish? East of San Marcos? Out by Tortuga? East of Chivato? South of Chivato down the outside of the "thumb" of Concepcion?

Wind is supposed to be significant for the YT tournament this weekend. We have the "Men's" tournament going on over here this weekend that benefits the local Rescate chapter, so they will be dealing with it, too.

First day we fished Northerly, circled Tortuga, no Dorado. 2nd day, ran out under the Sun 30 miles, fished out to 40, back and forth..Fish are there.Water temp was 78-80. Got rough and came in early...We found a dead COW 34 miles out (ReallY?) that had fish under it, but no size to em..Dinner was awesome, John Macy cooked the Dorado to perfection, mango salsa was to die for...MANY MANY thanks to the people who do the work on this tournament every year...

Wow! Sounds like you probably put on 160-180 miles easy and only burned 45 gallons? Aluminum boat, by any chance? Or maybe a fiberglass boat under 19 feet?

Thanks for the info, chuckie. Where do you launch from? Is that Punta Concepcion in the pic?

In the first post, I said we kept no fish. Going out again today, most likely will keep one medium size bull for eats...I'll take pics...
