Hope4Cancer for Juanita, the only one!
Hi Nomads. She is looking into both places for her cancer.I remember some discussion here about Sanoviv, and as I recall it was mostly negative. This
place, Cure4cancer sounds like a new hope for extending her days here, but I would like to know if any of you have heard of or experienced any
treatments from them. She is in the hospital today with a lot of pain, getting platelets and morphine.Hopefully H4C will take her tomorrow or soon. They
are in Rosarito Beach. All depends on the $$ right now needed for the treaments.I know you all care, and I am hoping her life can be extended, at
least.Hanging in there as best we can, Abrazos, Sally

Hi, Sally
I am so sorry about the ordeal the Juanita is enduring.
Sanoviv is a fraud. They say that they offer alternative treatments in a hyper healthful surrounding.
The facts are that they have been sued by the Mexican authorities for using unlicensed doctors and nurses.
When we asked for information, the told us that there was no outpatient care and the charges started at $4,000 U.S. and up per week.
Sanoviv is funded by a large U.S. vitamin company and the founder of that has been prosecuted for fraud as well.

We have contacted every place on the list to see if they could help Juanita. All medical records were sent as well as blood work, info, etc.We have
found that Hope4cancer has treated people that were sent home to die and with sucess. My youngest daughter, Amy has been responsible for all this work
and she is sending out a plea for help via Facebook.I thought I should share it here. They are asking $30, 000 to treat Juanita. If she doesn't make it
or it is decided that nothing can be done at some point, they will refund any money after the fact. The family is pitching in whatever we can but we
are asking for help from those that can.Any donations can be sent to Amy at 33725 Bluewater, Dana Point ,CA, 92629.(co/Juanita Miller).I know many of
you have helped so much last fall at the benefit and we want to thank you all again. You all made this last year a bit easier for her.She is in a lot
of pain but still with us.I just got off the phone with her and am trying to spend time with her every day, but today she is very tired. My G-girls are
being very brave but worry so much if their Mommy is going to live. They tell me that she is brave and strong but very sick.Damn it is so hard.So lets
hope for a miracle if we can get her into H4C SOON!!Abrazos Amigos, Sally

Sally my brother-in-law has acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is undergoing an experimental treatment called "nelarabine". Nothing else has worked but
there has been some improvement in his numbers since they started this new treatment. Don't know if this will help but you might mention it to her
doctors.
Buena suerte Sally

My thoughts are with you and your family. I know you have probably researched every possibility around, but I thought I would mention the City of
Hope in Duarte, CA as that is one I know has helped others.
So very sorry this is happening to you and your family.

Thank you so much for your heartfelt posts and well wishes.Juanita will be going to Hope4 cancer tomorrow with her Dad.The funds have been collected
and we will wait to hear if they can help her. Her hospice nurse has put her on so many opiates that she is barely here with us.She told me when I
took her to UCI that she can't take the pain but wants to be aware of whats going on and be able to communicate.I think hospice just puts them in a
semi coma. Wrong. So we will know tonorrow or the next day what they can do for her, if anything. She has had NO blasts show up since Cedar Sinai gave
her the boot, but her dad thinks she is storing them in her Spleen, hence the swelling of her tummy. This is the final round, and I am going to say
goodbye to her in the AM and bring her girls here with me for a few days.I will post when I get some news.Abrazos, Sally

Sally,
It really sounds to me as though Ken's suggestion of doing the 'nelarabine' therapy is on firmer ground than what I'm reading at the Hope4Cancer
center.

Sally,
A decision, any decision, is a commitment and and a resolution. It is a step forward and releases you from the stress of indecision and the time it
takes to explore options. Juanita, you and family have made that decision. Go with it!
I have had so many friends and casual acquaintances alike give me advice on what to do in regards to my Cancer. They are all well meaning and wish the
best for me. I listened and did research on many of their suggestions, plus everything else I could read about. Many had real merit, but it was an
overwhelming period and time was not waiting.
I had to make a decision and my conventional treatment seems to be working. It was a real relief to come to a decision! Juanita has tried that route
too, and now the time has come for you to try something entirely different, which you are going to do.
Hospice was doing for Juanita what Hospice does; provide comfort and relieve pain. It is done according to the diagnosis by her personal physician who
referred her. It is not "wrong".
Obviously, Juanita wants to be present and not in an induced semi-coma. She is a fighter. The mind is a very powerful thing! It can
cause miracles. For her, Hospice is perhaps "wrong" as she is not ready to submit to her physician's diagnosis. There is hope...go for it!
Juanita's best outcome is in my mind, and I know she is in many others' thoughts and prayers as well, including Nomads'. That is a
lot of collective mind power!

When my wife was diagnosed with Lung Cancer the people literally came out of the woodwork and all had myriad suggestions. The biggest problem we
found was that a lot of the clinics and alternative therapy places did a great job of advertising with anecdotal information which may have worked for
one person, one time, and really had no or little application for out particular treatment regimen. And of course, all the well wishers and people
suggesting these treatments were hoping that we would pick their particular mode of treatment and forsake the others. They even became quite animated
and vociferous in their opinions.
The biggest challenge comes in the fact that we are very motivated to try anything to save the life of our loved ones and that does make us
vulnerable to some pretty wacky treatments that we probably would not otherwise consider. I spent a lot of hours every day on the computer looking at
all of the alternatives and would probably do that again, but sometimes we need to take a look at what is really going on and there was a time when I
finally felt like I had done almost everything I could and started to feel like I was wasting the time which could be better spent in spending some
quality time with my wife who was dying from this terrible and overpowering disease. The last 30 days were the best part of that gift and the part
that gives me the most satisfaction, not the endless forays into looking for the miracle cure, but the acceptance that there were some things that I
was incapable of changing and that I had to make the best out of what really was.

I'm so sorry to read this Sally. Knowing what both you and her went through makes it all that much harder. I wanted so much for it not to end this
way. Thanks for letting us know.
