Flowers: I understand the sentiment, but not what is happening in the photo. It seems as if an awful lot of effort is being applied to the flag
pole.

This was in Tijuana, not East Los Angeles. I saw the photo in the Tijuana news this morning.

Si', and a photochopped flag at that
The section of the pole to the left of the flag is definitely not #6.
Nice photo though.

Great shot I thought.
Reminds me of a crew of Cal Trans workers doing a task................
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Really? Wouldn't they have three guys watching, or pointing, and one guy doing the bending?
Did you hear the Chinese have developed a product that will put Caltrans out of business?

Isn't it interesting how something like this can evolve these days. The guys trying to get tight bends in that nasty stuff had no idea they 'sort of'
looked like the the men on Suribachi. Someone saw the connection and had the skill to add the flag. Suddenly the reference can't be missed. My mind
immediately went to trying to make sense of their imitating (poorly) the famous picture. Then I got the re-bar. Fun!
