He could have easily done all his dining in San Diego but like many of us he was drawn back to Baja for unique food and great people.

Tony's got huevos and won't let bad press or bad guys spoil his fun.

As long as there are no video cam's nearby, I bet Anthony Bourdain was able to slip into Tijuana without anyone paying any attention.

If I could write off my Baja trips as a business expense, I'd be there more often, too.

Bourdain seems like a very fun guy, but I think he has his hands full with that new wife.

For at least the last 10 years a buddy of mine has done just that. He runs a delivery service for the ex pats living in the campos around San Felipe, driving to la otra lado and picking up stuff and bringing them back. He charges about $150/trip plus expenses (I think he pads the 'mordita' line item a bit) and makes enough to pay for all his trips. Out of deference to the finest pinch hitter in the history of MLB, and the fact that they share the same first name, he calls his service, Manny Mota Transport. One of these days an IRS agent who knows a little Spanish is going to turn him in.

It was a good episode. Many of my friends who are nervous about visiting Baja Norte were envious. No spoils for the timid.
