New Marina at La Ribera

We flew over the new marina as we were landing at SJC airport. We took a side trip on one of our off days from fishing to check out the new marina being built. While on the beach at La Ribera we talked to a local and he estimates it will be 5 years before it will ever be finished. I agreed with him.

There was very few people working on the project and only a few pieces of heavy equipment in use.

They have a clubhouse (restaurant bar) on the beach just west of the west jettie and this coming Tuesday they will be there to co-host the Bizbee with the Spa Buena Vista Resort nearby.

Their other two Baja projects are way behind schedule but you can't blame land speculators for what happens after they have sold the lots/plots/golf courses/canals/dreams to would be buyers --- drugs and wars and politics and world wide economics roll the big dice while these smart sellers take the cash and leave the buyers to the winds of chance.

It is an interesting concept for a project this size, but it will be a long while before it get sold out, let alone be operational.

Roll a major hurricane over it and it may never be finished. Or, if already completed, it may be done for.
